Criss-cross

This pattern in the supermarket car park reminded me of a toy I had as a child - a simple cardboard thing, held together with split pins, that you stretched out ahead of you by pushing the handles together. Think it had a fish's head on the end - bit like the mechanism for an adjustable shaving mirror, or a certain sort of bottle opener.
