The Colours of Orkney

An amazing day today; flat calm, sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. After the excitement of yesterday, this morning I did the back garden with a little less speed and a little more attention to health and safety!

No sign of the men coming to knock the window into a door so I put all the tubs back onto the steps and seating area. I reckon they'll be safe there for a good few weeks! But on the other hand, just the act of putting them all back could tempt the gods into sending the builders!

This afternoon Ollie and I had a good walk, and found lots of interesting stones and shells on the beach. The farmers round about are making the most of this weather, so here are some hay bales in the field at the end of the village. And yes, it really is this colour!
