Starry Eyed Surprise

By bellerock

Bagpuss lives here.

I had the today to myself as Mr G went to work as usual.

So Yeovil isn't that big but I did manage to get lost a couple of times.

After a few circuits of the town, I think I'm pretty familiar with the layout now.

Yeovil's got the usual Starbuck, Costa and Cafe Nero options for a coffee, but I like to go native.

So I had my coffee in a Deli down a side street. I pretended to be reading my map, but really I was just earwigging the local twang.

Delicious. I'll definitely enjoy listening to that accent.

Eventually Mr G managed to drag himself away from work and took me out for dinner to Sherbourne.

Uber quaint.

I took loads of pictures. It's so preeety.

We had a very tasty meal at the Half Moon, and concluded that pubs is definitely one of the things England does best.

You just can't get a lovely pub like that back home; homely, warm, child - friendly, beer garden.

Magic.

Sherbourne would be great to settle down in, or would it?

Maybe it's too pretty for it's own good, maybe it'll be swarming with tourists?

Mmmm, food for thought.

I think I'd change the name of the town though... Bagpuss Town would suit it best. It's definitely from that era.

This is the window of the shop that sells old fashioned toys. I looked for Bagpuss in the window, but he wasn't in.

But since it's Friday, he's probably down the pub with Madeline, Gabriel and the mice.

Yawn.
