My Retirement View
This is a view from the seafront road at Findhorn , the town where, if I ever win the lottery, I am going to retire to. It's always sunny there and as soon as you enter it's limits you immediately feel relaxed and chilled out, or at least I do.
I love coming here, maybe because I also associate it with good times. I first went to The Crown and Anchor here with a date in about 1984 and to this day I can still recollect the aftermath of that. I also have strong memories of The Kimberley Inn, especially their wonderful Chicken Tikka with "half and half" rice and chips. Today we went to The Crown and Anchor and sat in the sunshine at a table outside, where we had a sliver of a view of the bay, and ordered calamari and tzatziki dip in homage to Al who is in Corfu at present. Well, we were also sitting under a blue sky, in the sunshine, overlooking the sea - who needs Greece when you have this ?
This photo was taken on our way to the pub. A few hours earlier we were actually on the shore at the edge of the coniferous forest on the left, having walked three miles in an hour from the car park to get there. Every minute was worth it to be sitting there overlooking the Mediterranean blue bay with white sands bordering it. I took lots of photos from that side but I've chosen this one instead as I want to see a view like this when I come to live here!
