A Celebration

We were privileged to be invited to the Opening Gala Dinner to celebrate the transformation of the National Museum of Scotland. The Heritage Lottery Fund is a supporter of this £47m development project, along with the Scottish Government and a host of trusts and generous individuals. The Dinner was a thank you.

The main grand gallery in which the dinner was held, must be one of Scotland's most splendid public spaces; a birdcage of cast iron and timber allowing light to flood in from above, and it was beautifully lit and decorated for the occasion.

As at all openings, there was little time to view the new displays. These are always opportunities to catch up with friends and colleagues you have not see for some time, and to receive - and make - promises to get together.
