'What the....?'

I don't like not knowing what the name of an insect is. But I havent a clue here and can't identify it at all.

It's not the most attractive thing I've photographed at Dragon Forest, but at 2/3cm in length, it's one of the most impressive (has black shields on either side of it's chest, if that helps ID it).

Motionless, so not scary at all.

Don't know how I'd have felt with it buzzing around our heads though!
