THE CHANGING FACE OF THE PUB

The public house (pub) is a British institution - but they are changing to keep up with the times. A lot of my local pubs offer wi fi, coffee and foreign cuisine such as Thai food.

A significant number of pubs close in the UK every week - the smoking ban has been mooted as one of the main reasons for this - but the ones that continue in business are doing everything they can to bring people in.

I like the way that the sign at The White Hart, New Cross, is traditional and well worn, even though they offer internet access, live music and rooms. Oh and by the way, it was MUCH too early to pop in for a drink when I blipped this!
