Hotel California

....well, not quite.
But certainly the weirdest hotel we have ever stayed in.
Nothing but water in the mini bar.
No expense spared with fittings - all marble.
Very few guests and all staff with not a clue - seemed to be 'stooges' pushed into service.
Not allowed to charge the meal to the room - separate 'owner'.
Huge spread of food for breakfast - for 10 guests max.
Massive dining rooms all laid out ready for invisible guests.
We worried that we might wake up with a horses head in the bed.

Close to Rome airport, so it seemed a good idea at the time of booking.

Heading home tomorrow - bummer.
