If you're ever thinking of going to the Grand Canyon in the summer, just don't. We went as part of a week-long tour, and the heat wasn't a problem anywhere else, but here in the summer you only get about 5 hours a day to hike (assuming you start at 5am), which is not really long enough to get anywhere interesting unless you run. We didn't run. It's also so crowded it's kind of like hiking in a mall.

But yes, it is very large.
