The Promised Cake!

I promised a Christening cake for a customer, and I promised to blip it so here it is!
An early blip for me but the cake was collected earlier this morning and she was happy with the result! Phew!
Not an easy cake to make - the specification was that it should be a triple layered chocolate sponge covered in white fondant icing - now as all you cake experts know fondant icing sticks better to marzipan on a fruit cake, so to get it onto a chocolate cake I had to first cover it with white butter icing. Yesterday was not a good day for cake decorating as it was so close, the butter icing kept oozing out when I was stamping the teddy bears round the side., still it did give them nice fat tummies! The flowers were easy as I had made them the day before and just needed placing on top - and yes - the baby's name is Bliss!
The cake will be used as a dessert this afternoon and I would have much preferred to do a nice chocolate gateaux - but - the customer knows best!
