Canadian Pacific Station Montreal

This is Montreal's Dalhousie Station from which the first trans-continental train set off at 8pm on 28 June 1886, and arrived at Port Moody (near Vancouver) at noon on 4 July, some five and half days later.

The train consisted of two baggage cars, a mail car, one second-class coach, two immigrant sleepers, two first-class coaches, two sleeping cars and a diner.

You can see the position of the original tracks marked on the pavement on the right.
