Summertime

I arrived home last night to the lovely surprise that we have tickets to go to Tatton Park this evening. A concert, by the lake, starring Lesley Garrett and the Halle orchestra. The musical finale will be accompanied by a firework show. Guess we can expect the good old 1812 to feature in that!

This afternoon we visited Arley Hall and gardens another little pad belonging to a branch of the Egerton- Warburton axis who seem to own every pile of any size in Cheshire. Tatton Park was also one of their houses! Seems that they liked to keep it in the family.

Arley is a beautiful house and the gardens are wonderful. As well as visitors it also played host to a wedding party today. They couldn't have hoped for better weather in this stunning location.

The colours in this flower seemed to reflect the heat of the day.
