What tree is this?

These trees are all over Baku. They are not particularly tall and are quite bushey. The leaves come out in about May and now in late July they are covered in tiny white flowers which don't seem to have a scent. They'll lose their leaves in December. I don't recognise them from the UK.

Whatever they are, I'm grateful for the shade they provide around our flat and on the streets. According to the car temperature indicator it was 40 degrees today, and it certainly felt like an oven out there.
