From my garden with love
I'm so excited. My itty bitty garden is growing and today I was actually able to use something that I grew. We are going to a friends house this afternoon for a bbq. I was asked to bring a side dish along with a couple appetizers. I made a red potato pesto salad along with deviled eggs(she asked me to make these otherwise I never would have) and these caprese skewers. They have marinated mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes and from MY garden, basil leaves. It was so fun going to my own backyard to pick an ingredient. As you can tell by my excitement this is my first time attempting a garden and I'm a proud garden mom right now.
I laughed as I was making my caprese skewers as I remembered my friend and her husband not like tomatoes. Ooops! Oh well, there are plenty other things there to eat. Should be a great time with good friends and lots of food. This is the same group we traveled to Wallowa Lake with. My friend has compiled pictures from all of us and made a slide show of our trip that we will see for the first time tonight. Can't wait!!
Enjoy your weekend everyone.
ps. still getting the hang of the Nikon 5000. I miss my D60 although it's not as fancy of a camera. It's taking me a bit to adjust settings etc. Give me time and hopefully my shots will improve :)
