Scooping up from the Ocean

is the literal translation for Hai Di Loa, a Sichuan restaurant, famous for the 'hotpot', which is basically Chinese fondue! You sit around a table with two big pots of broth (spicy and non-spicy) in the middle. You then boil various meats and 'delicacies' in them. I tried duck's intestine, which was a similar texture to squid - not quite my cup of tea as I'm not a fan of eating animals' organs but it was great to see and experience what is considered a national pastime here.

The blip is the table-side noodle show, which was most impressive!

And then we went to a kareoke place - bonkers but again, great to experience! It's gone 3am so I'm hitting the hay. A lie-in is the order of tomorrow morning!
