Kvadraturen

One of my favourite statues in Oslo in the Kvadraturen area. It represents the decision of the Danish-Norwegian king Christian IV to rebuild Oslo after a disastrous fire in 1624. He pointed to this spot and said: "The new town will lie here!" Like all fountains and monuments in central Oslo, it's currently decked in flowers left in tribute after the events of July 22.
