The wedding of Alison Jones and Matthew Maybury

We were very priviledged to join our close friends Ali and Matt at their wedding in Bromsgrove this weekend.

I know I should have a picture of the Bride and Groom, but this one really made me chuckle. They are Ali's nephews, son and second cousin. All the kids were ceremoniously plonked down for a picture and I managed to quickly snap this one. They have such adult expressions it's brilliant.

The day we really lovely. A sunny day, totally relaxed if a little bizarre. They held at the Avoncroft Museum, which has a miniature railway. This kept the kids and mainly the adults amused for quite some time. And when they were bored there was a whole load of Centurions wandering the grounds, ready to do battle. Then, just when we thought there could be no more excitement for the day, the bride and groom got up to do their first dance. This in it's self was a miracle as Ali had told us all that Matt had refused to do one. When Jack Johnsons 'Better Together' cut into a Bollywood style number and they burst into a fully cereographed dance we fell around laughing.

And I suspect we all secretly fell a little in love with Matt for making Ali so impossibly happy! It was probably one of the more surreal weddings any of us have ever attended.

It was though also one of the loveliest, happiest and most joyous I have ever been to.
