Abernethy Outdoor Centre, Nethy Bridge

A day of happy memories, meeting old friends and seeing just how much the place has changed and developed since we were last here. One of four centres run by Abernethy Trust.

We both worked here on the summer staff when we were students, as well as many camping trips with friends. An annual joy was to get stuck here when the A9 snow gates were closed at the end of New Year house parties. Hard to think that CJ spent one of his first summers here sleeping in what was the pigsty. It is quite a posh storage place now.

One of the ponds, created in 1989, used for raft building and also part of a very challenging and extensive assault course.
