Rug for Beating

One of the great domestic traditions of Finland is the beating of rugs and carpets. Indeed I note that all the apartment blocks have a communal carpet beating rack outside. With the holiday drawing to a close Mrs.Joesblips insisted in beating the cottage rugs before we leave.
