I Love Grass

Eating freshly cut grass involves 50% munching and 50% excitedly throwing it in the air for some cows.

The story here is: Cows eat long grass by wrapping their tongue around it and pulling clumps of it up. This is great for the field but doesn?t get a very good yield as they leave half of it when it gets too short to pull up. As an experiment Farmer Robert is trying mowing the field first then letting them eat the fresh cuttings.

Now, cows LOVE grass so this is like giving an alcoholic the keys to the off licence and turning your back. They rush in and excitedly hunt for the biggest pile of grass they can find then fit as much in their mouths as they can. As they can't chew this much at once they then fling it about.

Its very amusing to watch.
