Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Not Exactly a Postcard

Drove home to Seattle this morning - almost blipped the line of cars at the border - altho since I have a pass it was only 13 minutes for me, instead of 50. So 2 1/2 hours from getting off the ferry to my door.
But I had lots of views of mountains on a spectacular day. Of course I was driving on the freeway so didn't dare take a picture! Later this afternoon I drove through the University of Washington campus (on my way home from the Apple Store) and there is this vista. You all don't know this but we don't get to see Mt Rainier without a cloud too often like this. One August when H and I were hiking on the wonderland trail around Mt. Rainier, we met a couple from Kansas, at the end of their circumnavigation (90 mile) and they had not seen the mountain once!
I confess I did mess with it a bit in Apple'sAperture (which I'm trying to learn -the jury's still out on that one) to make it glow even more. And I sort of like the contrasting urban construction stuff in the middle (working on the stadium.)
On the TV news tonight I heard that for april may and june, not only was it the coldest for the last 60+ years but that on AVERAGE 18+hours per day had at least 50% cloud cover. So Seattle is appreciating this late arriving bit of summer. and I just had to blip it --you never really know how it will look tomorrow.
H and I are enjoying our own schedules this week - I might have popcorn for dinner and I bet he watches the news 3 times a day!
