Gourmet eats
Stayed up entirely too late last night and got up early to see S, S & E off. So sad when good friends live so far away, especially when you used to spend almost every day together for an extended period of time. But I know we're lucky and get to see them at least twice a year. It'll have to do for now....
Jer and I had a lovely little picnic lunch today during our lunch break. Afterward I had a good haul at the thrift store (4 record sets, only $1/ea; navy blazer; plaid shirt; striped cotton sweater; 2 antique and unused corning dishes with a cute rooster pattern on it, brand new Emile Henry butter pot and a cast iron dutch oven) - all of this for $40!
Made this lovely dinner - salad, fried smelt (which weren't nearly as good as the ones from La Medusa) and Syrian shrimp. Used the new Syrian za'atar that I picked up from Market Spice yesterday.
Now I'm thoroughly knackered and must be off to bed. Good night.
