LOVE OF THE SEA
attracts many to the beach. In the early morning on that part where dogs are allowed it is a lovely social gathering. Some men and women meet here every morning and together they walk and talk. I see and like that, but prefer to enjoy the silence. We say hello, talk about the weather and what will happen in the autumn when the Zandmotor is ready and will be dogs allowed to go there too, or would they disturb the birds too much? Then Piet Hein and I we walk alone, only telling each other how much we like the quietness and swim and frolic in the water.
The haiku:
On top of the dunes
Sea and sky one colour now
The thistles deep blue
And the german proverb from the book:
If you should plant a thistle in Paradise it would never become a rose.
Sounds not very cheerful to me and reality sometimes is not, I know.
