West Shore Lighthouse
I'm straying from my festival theme influenced by PeteW who blipped a light beacon from the recently re-opened National Museum of Scotland.
This lighthouse (see large) on a slightly gritty shore front in the Granton area used to be on my regular evening run route, several years back. I must add that urban regeneration is ongoing in the area and it might look a lot more upmarket in the years to come. (see from rear)
It has music studios adjoining it, though the building itself is disused I think. The right wall of the building bears evidence of a stairway that has been lost to history, the landing abandoned in mid air.
I do find that I like the rich colours on the one hand and yet, I like the times bygone, where muted colours or their absence altogether, draw me to them. I will return back to the city sights in the forthcoming blips, but a bit of variation in theme seems like the right thing to do for now.
Thank you for your comments and stars on yesterday's blip. Very kind of you, considering the photos I'm getting out of this new toy are largely lucky as it befuddles me still. Hope your week is coming along well. :))
