Sharp Shinned Hawk

We went for a walk in Whatcom Falls Park today. It was a beautiful day. On our way home we met some folks who where seeking hawks with binoculars and cameras. Turned out I knew the husband from our days working at Whatcom Community College. Anyhow, we could clearly hear at least one hawk. Soon there were four. One flew right over us and settled in a tree above us. Another proved to be the cause of the gathering. He had caught something and was eating it while the other three watched and screamed. It was quite a sight. They were all up in the trees among the leaves so it was hard to get good photos. This is the one that was eating and causing the others so much annoyance.
