Quiet Blipper

Evening Sky on Fire

...or so it looked to us. P and I had landed safely back at Snug Cove on Bowen Island after a fabulous sail downwind from the Thormanby Islands at the north end of the Strait of Georgia. We had to return our friends to the harbour by about 3PM and we made it, under sail!! A nice steady wind of @12-15 knots and most of it on a broad reach or wing on wing. Steady and fast.

We said goodbye to our mates who were heading back to Vancouver for work starting Tuesday. P and I had a great dinner at The Tuscany Restaurant in the Cove and then an early night. Tired after all the sun and wind. No complaints. ;-)

As we walked back to the boat we looked up. Might not have except for the practice of "blipping." A fellow blipper sent me an article a few months ago which discussed photography as a Buddhist practice. One comment that has stuck with me is this - " The camera becomes a tool for cultivating awareness and transforming perception." We were enchanted by the cloud formations that looked like tongues of fire. A few moments later they were gone and the sky had filled in. We had been able to capture something so fleeting and now I can share it with all of you.
