The circle of life

On Thursday I learned that one of my son's friends gave birth to a baby boy...not exactly planned, but a cause for joy, none the less.

On the same day, I learned of the sudden and unexpected death of a man, not yet 50 years of age.

A salient reminder that we never know what lies ahead or how long is our allotted time on this earth.
