On their way to fresh food!

This year has been a difficult one for grass and it doesn't take long for a small herd of suckler cows with their young to eat down the grass in an average sized field. They then start bawling when they see anyone so this afternoon N and T moved them back to another pasture. Needless to say a bunch escaped into the Linseed but T was driving the quad and was able to get them back with some nifty moves. I heard the commotion from the house so donned some wellies, grabbed my stick and ran down to the track in case I was needed but luckily all was well!

The builders arrived today to start on the job of refurbishing our cattle yards - at last. They should have started in June! There is the deadline of the beginning of September as we have nowhere to put the animals if they need to come inside for any reason and then before we know it the winter is upon us.
