Life is a picnic

Backblip

Went to see Tous les Soleils yesterday. Great film, sometimes a bit too much melancholy but especially the music was beautiful. Before that, we went for a picnic on the Wilhelminapier, one of the docks in the old harbor of Rotterdam. It's become a vibrant area with great food, cultural hubs and great public space with a breathtaking view of Rotterdam. All that surrounded by mighty river Maas.

A lot of people had their cameras because of the view, so I expected to make some great pictures as well. I was kind of disappointed with the results. When something is really interesting in real life, it's so hard to capture that... It's the other way around I'm getting used to: seemingly uninteresting things that, when captured, turn out to be unexpectedly beautiful.

I chose this one because this is Rotterdam: it's always being built.
