Civic Pride

My last day in Heidelberg.

Biked it to neighbouring Dossenheim and, while I was taking a photo of the church, a very proud looking German who was in his garden started talking to me in his local tongue. He didn't speak a word of English but was trying to communicate something of seemingly great importance. He then went inside and came out with an aerial photo of the church and the town - ahhhh, you want me to take a photo of your photo. I get it now. OK I said, but you have to be in it too! Nice to see someone so proud of where they live, especially when it has "dos" in its name.

After tearful farewells (you can't blame them), I left the Milsoms and flew back to London. Thanks are due to Andy and Carole cabs for their very reliable service (albeit on the pricey side)
