Up up and away

Today i called in at work in the birth unit to attend the celebrations for marking our 1st anniversary of opening after our obstetric unit was closed amidst protests. A year ago we were very sad to break up a close knit team who had worked together for years. However, the small team of us left have pulled together and worked hard to make the new unit a success, and i feel very lucky and privilidged to be a part of it. A balloon was released for each baby born over the year and they were last seen heading for Birmingham airport. I hardly dare watch the evening news! ;-)
