Rosebud in the Rain

The forecasters were correct - unfortunately - it rained most of today. I ventured out to the fish van, then take picture of the rosebud at the back of the house, then a walk with Breagha in the evening.

I had such a lazy day off, even fell asleep as I read my book on the bed in the afternoon, which is totally unheard of for me. I think I am a bit below par these last few days, energy levels pretty low.

Mr Longshanks, I remember telling you ages ago that no birds were interested in the niger seed feeder, think it was last November I got it. Well, I saw some birds feeding this week and got the binoculars out. Finches - goldfinch (beautiful) and siskens (beautiful too) - I am thinking that they took a long time to find it but now they know, it's a feeding frenzy down there!! Also I saw a bird with pure yellow breast in the front tree with crossed tail - any ideas what this is??
