Piano Man
So the piano tuner came, and that's pretty much all that happened today :)
We've carted this piano, that was my grandmother's, 13000km to Australia from South Africa. Once we got here, it was loaded on a trailer, and towed up the mountain, through a huge rainstorm to it's new home in Narrabri. It survived but the keys have been sticking ever since and it has needed a good tuning. In the first few months of being here, I saw an ad in the paper for a piano tuner that comes to the area once a year, but never responded. It has taken 6 years, and Candice putting my name down for him to finally get here. And now it's working - not to Concert standards, according to him, but good enough to let me play and give me pleasure :)
Somehow, just the fact that I now can play again, is making me nervous. I used to spend hours playing and would lose myself in the joy. My husband and children would tease me that once I started playing, nothing else got done.
But it's definitely time to hunt out the favourite music and start again!!
