Oops!

The old adage It will be all right on the night doesnt always work!

Last night's gig at Taynuilt Hall was a fine example. First we were one man down as our piper had a previous engagement, however we did find a replacement one so that wasnt so bad. Next our box player was out of sorts as the poor chap was feeling dreadfull and all praise to him for managing on stage at all far less play for two hours feeling like death. Then the keyboard plug went, however they managed to deal with that with a bit of tape and some good humour. The fiddler then started a set in the wrong key, (she was worried about the box player) one of the singers sang the same verse twice while the other forgot his words.
However they dealt with every brickbat that came their way delftly and with humour and the audience at some points thought it was all part of the performance! and its good that sometimes these things happen as part of the learning process is dealing with these little quirks.
Got them home and settled just after midnight.

That is now 6 gigs almost every night they have done and are bound to be a bit tired.
Tonights performance will be in a lovely statley mansion house in Argyll to a very select audience. They performed there last year and were invited back and they enjoyed it a lot. Today also they have been invited to go to a local recording studio to lay down a couple of tracks and just to get the feel of what its like to work with all these gizmos etc.
One more mainland gig tomorrow at the Ardfern Arts Festival at 5pm then its off to the islands.
