The rain, at last had its full...
The rain, at last had its full;
Of drenching London and making it dull
The sun with timidity let herself be seen,
But only a glimpse could one initially glean,
As she peered at us through the veil of a cloud,
A damp and soggy London wished she'd be a little more proud,
She scuttled behind a tall tower block,
Then coyly peered at us from around its mass, those desperate for her rays she appeared to mock.
But on the eve of that wet Thursday we, with sadness, knew;
She was only giving us a brief evening performance before away she drew,
Her brevity, we hoped tomorrow would become a slew.
