Day Off with Sarah at Hardwick Hall

Today is my day off, and my daughter and I have just returned home from a day out at Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire. It's a fantastic Elizabethan house built by Bess of Hardwick in the 1590s, along with some wonderful gardens (including a herb garden). It's a house I've visited before, but one which I love. Described as 'more glass than wall', it's a blatant demonstration of the wealth and power of a contemporary of Queen Elizabeth I.
