Very Macro

Met up with some friends tonight who had just returned from a trip through the States. One of the places they stopped in their travels was at a mine that advertised that you could prospect for gem quality opals in the rubble from their mine.
Of course all the precious stones had already been removed, but they did find some stones with some beautiful striations. I experimented by adding extension tubes to my macro lens to take some extreme closeups of the layers in some of the rocks.
