What a difference...
...a day makes.
Much better large.
Yesterday it poured. Today it was baking.
We returned to the lakes and wandered round, with Noah in tow this time.
The boys had a ball. H went kayaking on one of the lakes. It was supposed to be for 40 minutes but the guy liked him and let him stay on for nearly an hour. Noah and I were happy watching. Noah nearly cleared the beach area of pebbles, throwing them in one after the other, solidly, for an hour. He protested vehemently when H and I finally dragged him away. H was completely soaked as the kayaks are open, but we only live five minutes away.
We spotted these guys portaging past one of the locks. I couldn't believe my luck. This particular lock always reminds me of something from the rain forests...it's so over grown and lush. I've been waiting for a photogenic set of adventurers in a big canoe to set it off. Very thoughtful of them to wear matching gear in a nice contrasting colour.
This afternoon we've mostly been listening to H whinge and moan...and moan...and whinge...and throw a strop here and there. He then wemt out to play, broke a cardinal rule of being allowed to play by going into someone else's house without telling us where he was, then being very rude and stroppy when we collected him. He's now grounded for a few days...and sulking. So nothing new then ;-)
