DOING OUR LITTLE BIT TO HELP THE EURO.

The Ilkley Summer festival has got underway this week, started on Yorkshire day, 1st August and carries on all month. Yesterday we had the Joe Loss Orchestra playing at the Kings Hall, not my cup of tea but the old folks I keep an eye on enjoyed the concert. Today the Continental Market Weekend started, brass bands played in the Grove as the populous mingled around the delights on offer in the stalls, German Salamis, French Cheese, Turkish Delight, Greek specialities, you name it and you would have found it in the market, strange think is that in three quarters of the stalls these foreign purveyors of exotic delicacies spoke with a decidedly Northern accent!
