Today was the last day of the NSEA (Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association) Salmon at the Bay festival, culminating in a salmon dinner at Boundary Bay Brewery, followed by dance music aimed at the younger generation. Salmon at the Bay is an annual fundraising event to support NSEA salmon habitat restoration work in Whatcom County.

Jeremy, an NSEA board member and commercial fisherman who hails from Cornwall, donated and auctioned a beautiful line-caught 24-pound salmon. He mentioned that he was the only human to have touched the fish. The winning bid of $210 was made by Wendy, a previous Executive Director of NSEA. She must be the second person to have touched that fish.
