Jellyfish
Moved from one beach to the next--and it only took a full day of traveling to do so (1 hour boat ride, quick taxi trip, 2 hours waiting at the airport without air conditioning, 1 hour flight, 1 hour going through customs, a 3 hour flight, and an hour and a half drive from JFK to Auntie Sheila's house in Connecticut).
Strangely enough, what was usually known as Milford beach had become a mortuary for jellyfish. Auntie Sheila says that this is a normal occurence every August, but it certainly caught my attention. I've seen jellyfish before but this was definitely the first time that I've actually touched one. Now that I have, the name definitely fits; their tops feel exactly like Jello and they're almost the same consistency. Craziness.
