Old friends

M and C have come to stay with us virtually every year since we moved here in 1994. M and I first met as students in 1969-70, and we met again in the early 80s in Oxford, where we became firm friends, first as two couples and then as families with children of the same age - E being born in the month after H, and J in the month after G. We've enjoyed a lot of good times together, and also supported each other through some hard times. With the younger generation increasingly centrifugal (only G was around for this year's reunion, although they maintain their own connections), we four old friends keep the flame burning.
