Orchid Moth
I bought this orchid from Morrison's nearly dead. The poor little thing was dried up and neglected and she was £1.75.
Now she is flowering for me. I think she is supposed to be a miniature orchid, but she needs to be pruned after she has finished flowering.
The centre of the Phalaeonopsis looks like a moth, so that real moths will be attracted to her and try to mate with her; then he will fly off to another phalaeonopsis and fertilise her with the pollen from the other orchid.
Nature is amazing!
