Workers

The initial survey told us we needed to lower the level of the soil at the back of the 'new' house. One digger, one skip, one husband, one builder and two days hard graft to create this space. They have discovered two ventilated grids which were covered in built up soil and two massive sandstone blocks which had been used for holding up the washing line poles. Now we need to choose paving slabs. Much as I would love beautiful stone, I think it will be cheap and cheerful cast concrete. Ah well!
