During a brief break in the downpours, I had a short walk... well, about seven miles. The rain recommenced over the last mile.
I like the colour of these little ferns. I also like the fact that they're unlike bracken, and don't attempt to cover vast areas of the landscape. There's plenty bracken on the Black Isle, and it's a favourite hiding place for those pesky ticks to launch their attacks on the unwary. None of them today, thankfully.
