Lack of central energy.
"While the State becomes inflated and hypertrophied in order to obtain a firm enough grip upon individuals, but without succeeding, the latter, without mutual relationships, tumble over one another like so many liquid molecules, encountering no central energy to retain, fix and organize them."
Emile Durkheim
In a landscape of rising prices, falling wages, lack of opportunity and political voice; in an environment where there is extensive corruption in financial institutions, in the media, in the police force and amongst politicians, it would seem that our "central energy" has left the building.
Surprised at the consequences?
In other less disturbing news... the daughter came home today, the rain has stopped but not completely, the slater is coming on Wednesday and I'm getting ready to head off to Bloodstock for a weekend of fun and frivolity. More on that later...
