Brecon Beacons

Superb walk today. In the background is Corn Du and Pen y Fan the hills we walked yesterday.

The cottage we are staying in is superb. In the middle of nowhere, no traffic noise, brilliant views and almost as cheap as chips!

After yesterday's walk i had a ride on the bike exploring the very hilly surrounding area. I found a great pub where we ended up eating and found a good place to park for our walk today.

Unlike yesterday we hardly saw anyone and we were out for 4 1/2 hrs. The walk had a bit of everything, a lovely path through Rowans, Birch and Oak to begin before climbing a gradual, airy ridge. The weather couldn't make it's mind up. One minute brilliant sunshine the next driving rain. We skirted some very impressive cliffs and it was here the weather was at it's worst so we sheltered by a wall and had a brew. This is where the photo is taken. There was loads of Whinberries in this area so when the rain stopped we picked some. DB is going to make some Muffins tomorrow when we get home.
