Wholeness

Day three: getting rid of the old

So, today was a good day at work. I got a fair amount done, didn't feel too overwhelmed, laughed, was productive; it was a good day. I also have the feeling that I might be able to let go of some resentment and pain that I have been wanting to let go of. I am not there yet, but today I felt hopeful and it felt possible. That was uplifting and freeing.

When I came home, there was the smell of fresh-mown grass. The smell of fresh cut grass takes me back to being a child. It smells free and summery and, dare I say it, hopeful. You have to get rid of the old to let the new grow. It is the new growth that is pretty and fun to play in as a child...and great to revel in as an adult.

I don't know why this spout with grass stuck on it "speaks" to me, but it does. Letting go and letting new things grow. Allowing change and new growth to happen...I think that is on the steps to wholeness.
