The beginning of a new reef #2

It has been almost a week and our reef is already taking shape.

First we have shaped the styrofoam with a heat gun to create the reef look. After that my boyfriend applied two layers of cement. We have now glued the two pieces into our aquarium and filled the aquarium with water. As the cement is releasing toxins, we have to leave it like this for a few weeks until all the toxins are released in the water. We will know that the toxin-releasing process has ended when the PH stops rising.

The next step will be to take the toxic water out and refill the aquarium with salt water.
