Letter challenge for poem for Word4Word Open Mic Night
(3) B s and (1) D

Three things are up for me right now:
First - I attended a writer's workshop and came home with dozens of literary journals, so I have been reading lots of different kinds of poetry.
Second - I am trying to understand "Prose Poetry" which for me seems more like a problem of proper cat-e-gor-ization. Prose Poetry seems to be stream of consciousness writing, or in my case it might be called a stream of Un-consciousness writing, or at least un-conch-ible writing.
Third - I am heading into a "blue period" or a period of cathartic writing, or as I am looking at it a "cleaning out the crap" period, which means for the next year or so, you may not want to hear what I am writing, just as I may not want to read anything that I have written. But there you have it. On the bright side, I might cut off my ear and become infamous after lying around Polynesia naked.

Prose Poem:

(3) B s and (1) D

Been meaning to call.
But didn't.
Busy you know.

Comatosed in bed, paralyzed with depression.
I could take drugs, but that seems counter intuitive because the drug companies and healthcare system is part of what is making me depressed. I went to an energy healer, who now accepts western medical insurance. Is that like the Christians drinking the kool-aid?
The kids are doing great thanks. As long as they can get the money together to stay in school and buy materials and books. But they can't, so they go to work for Arby's and Wendy's making more of the food which is killing us. Do you notice how the names are possessive?
Have you noticed with this economic downturn the neighborhoods are shaggier? No money for gasoline or yard equipment But the power company has purchased a whole new fleet of hand held chain saws and are butchering the trees back to ten feet from the installed power lines? Not at the trunk which would be proper pruning, but right at the 10 foot mark, which causes the tree to send out more than a handful of new growth, so every year the power company has more work cutting back the poor trees which they cut the year before. Wow that's good management.
The house? Yes, it is great to have a roof over our head. But it doesn't belong to me. It is supposed to. But it doesn't. It belongs to ? well, I don't know who it belongs to, probably China. But the legal paper the lawyer wrote can't be read because the English is so ambiguous that now the judge has a headache and can't figure out how to rule, so it is best that China owns it ~ for now anyways.
I heard the United States lost its triple A rating for banking loans. Does that mean instead of paying the agreed to interest somewhere in the teens or single digits, the bank will be doing for them what it did for us individuals just a couple of years ago? You remember, you can't pay the lower interest rates so we are going to double your interest to somewhere over 33 percent. Isn't that loan shark territory? I am so glad we took care of that in the 20's. Need a bank loan? I am so glad the banks could help when we needed it. Do you think they will lose their house?
Poor Haiti and Greece ~ being offered the only solution on the horizon ~ another bank loan. Now we know what it feels like. A bailout. Seriously?
I am so glad that mafias (yes - plural) now own the banks and are back into their first realms of expertise, insurance and garbage control. Got to love priv-a-ti-zation. But have you heard, they have also moved into the most lucrative field of all ~ human suffering ~ the medical field. They now own the medical research companies and medical mega conglomerates. What you say ?the mafia doesn't own the medical companies, insurance companies or human waste companies." ~ Are you sure? Need a loan? Got Trash? Pass me another blanket.
But we could organize a revolution through face book and twitter, communicating via hand held devises as long as a tree doesn't fall on a satellite and the power company doesn't flip the switch on the grid, and the military is present to protect us. But who is us? Do you know for sure?
Today is my Birthday.
BD was always shorthand for Birth Day.
That is how I abbreviated it.
So now my two letters are B and D.
So happy Ba Ba Birthday to me
What? Its not my birthday. Well no problem
Do what the big boys do ~ look at it another way ~ happy UN Birthday, as our friend Hare would say. That means we can celebrate everyday of our year ~ no one is excluded. Good for us. Give me the present.

Damn, I'll have to call so we can get together.
